Generally, the only videos that I post on Scamicide, which can be found in the Video section of the blog, are videos of speeches or interviews I have given, however, today I am happy to introduce you to a terrific, entertaining video that describes in a humorous way many of the scams about which I alert you each day.  The video is done by Gunhill Road a band that has been making multi-genre rock and pop music for more than five decades.  What I find particularly interesting about this video is that it does a great job of helping people remember to avoid scams.  At Bentley University where I teach White Collar Crime I also teach a course in Misinformation and Disinformation.  Much of the scholarly literature in regard to protecting people from misinformation and disinformation focuses on making the warnings memorable, often through music, visuals and other things that enable us to remember important information.  You can think back to the Schoolhouse Rock videos of the early 70s (if you are old enough) to remember that you probably remember its grammar lessons better than what you learned in school.  Thus Gunhill Road has not only created an amusing song, but is also doing a real service in warning people about scams.  Take a listen.
