Fortnite, which was created by Epic Games, is one of the most popular and profitable video games.  Gamers can play Fortnite for free so you might ask how Epic Games made 4.4 billion dollars from Fortnite last year.  The answer is that Fortnite sells gear, character “skins” and dance moves to enhance the enjoyment of playing the game, however in 2022 the Federal Trade Commission sued Epic Games for using deceptive practices to trick players into making unwanted purchases, making it difficult to cancel the purchases and then locking gamers out of the game if they attempted to dispute the charges.  According to the FTC millions of Fortnite players were charged for unwanted items.  In 2023 Epic Games settled the lawsuit with the FTC and agreed to pay 245 million dollars to victims of the scam.
