Regular readers of Scamicide, which I hope you are or will be, know that is very important to keep all of your computers and other electronic devices up to date with the latest security patches.  This is why I regularly provide you with links to these updates as made available by the United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team which is a part of the Department of Homeland Security.  Today, however, I am providing you with a link to important software updates recently issued by Microsoft to patch vulnerabilities in its Malware Protection Engine.  Failing to install these updates leaves you vulnerable to identity thieves who exploit these vulnerabilities when people fail to install these important security updates.  Generally, these particular Microsoft updates are done automatically by Microsoft on your computer.  You will notice when this is done when you go to turn off your computer and are told not to turn it off until updates are completed.  However, there are circumstances when the updates are not automatically accomplished and it is important to make sure that you are indeed protected.
